Let me start this page by my favorite saying "East is East and West is West and Dubai is best." Dubai is the safest place in the world in this regard due to high standard of living , high standard of medical care , health awareness and of course efforts of all health care providers (Team) to prevent and combat STD. Our mission is to stop sexually transmitted diseases and their harmful consequences to individuals , families and communities . I do not have exact statistics about STD . Incidence and pattern of STD vary from country to country and from disease to disease .Incidence of several diseases declined and several new fatal diseases emerged .Few examples of STD are such as Syphilis , Gonorrhea , AIDS (Acquired immune deficiency) , Herpes simplex genitalis type2, Hepatitis B , Genital warts , Molluscum contagioscum , Non specific urethritis , Bacterial vaginosis , candidiasis (thrush) , Trichomoniasis , cancroids , Donovanosis , Lympho granuloma venerium and so on . Dermatologist have a critical role in the efforts to prevent and treat sexually transmitted diseases. I emphasize on prevention , Health awareness , early detection ,Correct diagnosis and early and proper treatment of patient and partner . I will give you few tips for your protection .

1.Stay with one partner

2.Single Condoms gives you about 50% protection and double condom gives you about 75% protection .Virus of deadly HIV and Hepatitis B can filter through and through intact latex rubber .

3.Abstenence is the only sure and safe prevention.

4.Hepatitis B vaccine is very important for all ages

5.Incubation of most STD vary but it may be most cases few days to 90 days.

6.In case any sore , blister, discharge , papule or any abnormal structure noticed on genital area or any other body area please report immediately to your dermatologist as correct diagnosis and correct treatment is very important. Most cases are cured with proper treatment.

7.Treat your partner or else you will get ping pong re- infection.
